Polar H10 Runner
Do you have a Polar H10 heart rate sensor and want to get more out of it? Take a look.
01
Reading a run
An experimental Android app connects directly to a Polar H10 chest sensor, streams raw ECG and acceleration, and turns a recorded session into a compact running report.
02
What’s built
- Bluetooth connection and live raw ECG and acceleration traces.
- Start and stop controls for a running session.
- Estimated cadence, steps, and movement intensity, with minute-wise trends.
03
Working within the signal’s limits
The project focuses on measures that can reasonably be estimated from chest acceleration. It avoids claims about running power, stride length, or ground-contact time that require further assumptions or validation.
04
Where it stands
The repository contains a working experimental application built with native Android views and Kotlin Flow. The next step is to implement cardio-respiratory-locomotor coupling analysis.
